Facebook is no stranger to cyberattacks. Many hackers and fraudsters use Facebook to contact their victims, and keeping up with all of their new tactics is difficult. Most individuals don't realize they've been hacked until a buddy on Facebook informs them that they received suspicious links from you on Messenger or nearly clicked on a strange link posted to your page. (Unfortunately, this buddy may already have clicked the link.)

To add fuel to the fire, many hacked accounts are difficult for the account holder to regain access to later. We received an email from a man who contacted us with exactly this query.
